About Medi Ready Kids

Children experience almost everything adults do in healthcare—but they shouldn’t be expected to cope like adults. They need preparation and support that makes sense to them. Every child deserves to feel safe, informed, and supported—no matter their age or the medical journey they face.

Medi Ready Kids is here to support every part of a child’s healthcare journey. From parents at home, to healthcare teams in hospitals and clinics, to educators in kindergartens and schools. Everyone has a role to play in shaping how children experience healthcare. No matter which category you belong to, Medi Ready Kids is here to guide you.

As a Child Life Therapist, I’ve seen just how powerful preparation and education can be. When children are supported they are better equipped to cope—creating more positive and empowering experiences for everyone involved. A child’s early experience with healthcare can shape how they feel about it for life—but with the right approach, we can lay the foundation of trust, confidence, and mastery from infancy through to adolescence.

I started Medi Ready Kids because I saw a gap. Too often, families face medical experiences without the tools or strategies they need to prepare and support their children—especially in the community. In fact, many children experience their first medical procedure on the very first day of life! There's so much we can do to support children and young people from day one, sometimes even the smallest strategy can make the biggest difference. I want you, whether you’re a parent or a healthcare professional, to have access to all of this knowledge and experience that I’ve gathered over the years.

Our mission is simple; to ensure all children feel safe, prepared, and supported in healthcare settings—no matter their age, development, or medical journey. We equip parents, professionals, and educators with the tools, strategies, and knowledge they need to reduce fear, build confidence, and create more positive healthcare experiences for all children from day one.
